Come to Fort Stanwix for the next Homeschool Day event!
From 9:30 am to 11:30 pm and 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, learners will discover how science and math play an important part in firing cannons, act out the twenty-one day siege of the fort, engage in many of the everyday activities of the women and children of the 3rd NY Regiment, compare and contrast modern and 18th century firefighting, be encouraged to interact with park exhibits by joining the "Amazing Fort Stanwix Race," and much, much more. Learners of all ages will experience Continental Army life on the frontier of New York State.
In order to ensure staffing and supply needs are met for this free event, reservations are required. To make a reservation, please call the park's main number, 315-338-7730, and speak with the staff on duty. Reservations open up on August 20, 2017.
Please contact the park's Education Coordinator, Valerie Morgan, at 315-336-4448 or Education Coordinator with specific questions regarding the event. In the event of inclement weather, accommodations will be made to continue the outdoor activities within the covered living history spaces.
For those wishing to spend the entire day at the park, participants are encouraged to pack a picnic lunch and a blanket and enjoy their midday meal onsite. There are also many offsite meal options within close proximity of the fort.
