Boston Tea Party
In protest against the tax policy of the British government and the East India Company ( which controlled all the tea imported into the colonies), the Sons of Liberty boarded ships containing the taxed tea and threw the cargo into Boston Harbor after officials refused to return the three shiploads back to Britain.
