Col. Sir John Johnson with 528 from the King's Royal Regiment of New York, 34th Regiment and Native Americans arrived at the northern part of the Johnstown settlement. He split his detachment into two parties; one to hit Tribes Hill and the other to attack Caughnawaga (Fonda).
