Indian Trail

This marks the historic Indian Trail from Fort Plain to Unadilla; on map by British Officer, 1757, during the French and Indian War. This ancient trail was a major Indian trading route for thousands of years. Goods from the Mohawk Valley and from the east coast travelled this way to trade for those from the west as far away as the Mississippi River.
